Actos, also known as Pioglitazone, is used to treat diabetes and has been classified as under an "ongoing safety review" by the FDA. This drug has been shown to cause serious complications in some patients who have taken it for prolonged periods, including bladder cancer and heart problems.
As of 2011, the FDA is informing the public that the use of pioglitazone for more than one year may be associated with an increased risk of bladder cancer.
